Overview
Aarokya is a healthcare solution that provides affordable healthcare for India's 200 million gig workers. It offers health savings, low-cost insurance, and easy access to medical helplines and doctor consultations.
The challenge was to create a healthcare product people would actively use and not one they opened only to purchase or claim insurance. The experience needed to promote regular health savings while making healthcare guidance, emergency support, and insurance easily accessible whenever required.
We designed Aarokya as a zero-to-one healthcare platform, defining everything from the brand name, identity, and visual language to the end-to-end mobile experience. Built around a Health Wallet, the app encouraged users to save consistently towards their healthcare goals, with insurance, doctor consultations, emergency support, family coverage, and social contributions seamlessly integrated into a single experience.
To validate the product before a wider rollout, we packaged the Aarokya experience as an SDK within the Namma Yatri app. This allowed us to test the concept with a focused user group, gather feedback, and iterate on the experience in real-world conditions.
My Role
As the lead designer, I shaped Aarokya's product vision into a cohesive experience. My responsibilities spanned product strategy, information architecture, end-to-end user flows, UI design, design systems, multilingual support, and defining a visual language that felt approachable, trustworthy, and optimistic.
